SOS Ranch comes from third generation Sharpings, living and working the original homestead in Pukwana South Dakota. Exotic animals, miniature horses, miniature donkeys and exotic cattle may not be found on your typical ranch but I guess it goes to show we are not quite your typical family. The Sharping family has held an four day Antique/Exotic Sale the last full week in February since 1966. The Heritage Sale is still going strong and growing every year!
Our AMHA/AMHR herd of miniature horses may give most area cowboys' pause but we take great pride in our horses. Miniature goals are the same as our QH, to produce to best animal we can to compete on any level even if they are simply cherished pets.
Our watch dogs were even non-typical but little did traveling salesman know they had less to worry about from the Cougar on the roof verses the crabby old blue heeler in the porch!

Ranch is located in Pukwana, SD raising Quarter Horses, Exotics,
Miniature Horses, Miniature Donkeys and Miniature Cattle. 
Growing
up on a Ranch, typical or not, one grows up strapped to the back of a horse.
The staple of the ranch herd has always been the American Quarter Horse and we
produce a small number of foals a year that do their jobs with
speed, style and chrome.
Exotics
started quietly enough with the purchase of some longhorn cows and moved
on to include African Hoof Stock and even some large predators.
